Move AutoPrintEmail to a New Computer
2 min read
The old PC is on its last legs and a new one is on the desk. You don't need a new licence or a new account. Your licence belongs to your login, not to the machine.

What moves and what doesn't
- Moves with you: your login, your plan, your team.
- Stays on the old computer: your mailbox connections, printers and rules. AutoPrintEmail keeps these on the computer itself (your mailbox passwords never leave it), so you set them up once more on the new one. It takes about five minutes.
Move it
- On the old computer, write down what you need: which mailboxes, which printer, and any rules on the Rules tab.
- Quit the app on the old computer (right-click the tray icon > Quit). Two computers signed in with the same login would both print the same emails.
- On the new computer, download AutoPrintEmail from autoprint.email/download and sign in with the same email as before.
- Connect your mailbox and choose your printer, just like the first time (walkthrough).
- Send yourself a test email and check it prints.
- Back on the old computer, open the app, click Logout at the bottom of the sidebar, then uninstall it.
Good to know
- Set the start date. When you connect the mailbox, check Print emails from. Pick the moment you quit the old computer, so nothing older prints a second time.
- Keep both computers? Then they're two print stations, and each needs its own login. See Add a Computer or Team Member.
- New computer is a Mac or Linux box? That's fine, your plan covers any of them. See Keep Your Mac Awake or the Linux install guides.
