Install AutoPrintEmail on a Mac
2 min read
A spare Mac Mini next to the printer makes a great print station. Here's how to get AutoPrintEmail onto it in a couple of minutes.
Table of Contents
Download and install
- Go to autoprint.email/download on the Mac that will print.
- Download the .dmg. The page picks the right one for your Mac. If you choose by hand: arm64 for Apple silicon (M1 and newer), x64 for older Intel Macs.
- Open the .dmg and drag AutoPrintEmail into Applications.
- Open it from Applications. If macOS asks whether you're sure you want to open an app downloaded from the internet, click Open.
First launch
- Sign in with your email (we send you a sign-in link), or with Google or Microsoft.
- Start the free trial, connect your mailbox and pick the printer. The setup guide walks through it.
Keep it running
- Closing the window doesn't stop it. AutoPrintEmail stays in the menu bar. Click its icon to open it, pause printing or quit.
- Start it at login. In the app, open Settings and switch on Start on login.
- Stop the Mac sleeping. A sleeping Mac prints nothing. See Keep Your Mac Awake.
Requirements
macOS 13 Ventura or newer, and a printer that already prints from that Mac. On macOS 12 or older, contact support and we'll point you to the right version.
