Shopify Order Printing With Nothing to Install
Most order-printing tools ask you to install something before you can find out whether they work. Download an app, grant it printer access, restart, discover it doesn't do what you needed. That's a lot of friction to answer a simple question: can this thing put my orders on paper?
So we removed the install from the front of the process.

What changed
The embedded Shopify app now has a print queue of its own. Every document Shopify triggers — order confirmations, packing slips, fulfilment notices — renders right there in the app. You click Print, it prints, using your browser and whatever printer that computer already has.
Nothing to download. Nothing to configure. Works on a Mac, a Windows PC, a borrowed laptop at the counter.
The desktop bridge is now optional
This is the part worth being clear about, because it changes what the product is.
The desktop bridge is still where the magic lives. With it running, documents print by themselves — no queue to watch, no button to click, orders just appear on the printer while you pack. That was true before and it's still true.
What's different is that it's no longer the price of entry. Before, the browser did nothing useful on its own and the bridge was mandatory. Now the browser path is a complete, working way to print your orders, and the bridge is the upgrade that removes the last click.
Two honest sentences, then:
- In the browser: orders render, you click Print. Any computer, nothing installed.
- With the free bridge: orders print themselves. No clicks.

Most shops start in the browser and move to the bridge once volume makes clicking annoying. That's the right order to do it in.
What printing in a browser can and can't do
It can render the document properly, respect your paper size, and hit any printer that computer can see, including a thermal receipt printer installed on that machine.
It can't print while nobody is looking. A browser tab isn't a background service, and pretending otherwise would be the same overclaim we criticise elsewhere. If unattended is what you're after, that's exactly the job the bridge does.
