Auto-Print WooCommerce Order Emails
WooCommerce already emails you every order. The "New order" email has the order number, the items, the quantities and the shipping address. It is a pick ticket that happens to sit in your inbox.
So stop opening each one. Point that email at a mailbox of its own, connect the mailbox to AutoPrintEmail on the computer at the pack bench, and every new order prints the moment it lands.

Where WooCommerce sends the New order email
In your WordPress admin:
- Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Emails.
- Click New order.
- Check Enable this email notification is ticked.
- In Recipient(s), enter the address that should print. Several addresses go in with a comma between them, so you can keep your own copy and add the print mailbox.
- Click Save changes.
This is the admin email, sent on every new order. The customer's "Order received" email is a separate one and you leave it alone.
Give it its own mailbox
Don't point it at your own inbox. The computer at the bench would then watch your personal mail, and every rule you add later has to work around your newsletters and your supplier's invoices.
Make a mailbox just for orders, like orders@yourshop.com in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, or a Gmail account made for the job. Put that address in Recipient(s).
Already have the emails going to a shared address you can't change? Add a forwarding rule in that mailbox that sends the New order emails on to the print mailbox.
Connect it in AutoPrintEmail
- Install AutoPrintEmail on the computer next to the printer and sign in. Sign up and add your first account walks through it.
- Add the orders mailbox as an account. Gmail and Microsoft 365 sign in with a click; anything else connects over IMAP.
- On the Mailboxes step, keep Inbox ticked.
- Pick the printer at the pack bench and set Copies to how many slips you want per order.
- Click Save & Start Monitoring.
Print the body, and turn off what you don't need
WooCommerce order emails are HTML. The order is in the email itself, there is no PDF. So the setup is the opposite of an invoices inbox:
- Print message body: on. This is the order.
- Print images: off. The shop logo in the email travels as an image attachment, and with this on it can print on a page of its own.
- Print attachments: can stay on. WooCommerce attaches nothing, so it prints nothing. Leave it on if a plugin adds a PDF packing slip to the email.
- Only print unread emails: untick it if anyone reads orders on their phone. Otherwise an order opened on a phone before it prints gets skipped. Why.
These are on the account's Print tab, under Manage. Click Save Changes after changing them.
Only new-order emails should print
Other things reach the same address: WooCommerce's cancelled-order and failed-order emails, low-stock notices, plugin updates, WordPress itself. Add one rule so only new orders print:
- Click Manage on the account, open Rules and click Add Rule.
- Name it "New orders" and keep When this matches on Print it.
- Add the condition Subject contains with
New order. That is the default WooCommerce subject, in the form "[Your Shop]: New order #1234". If you changed the subject in Emails > New order, use the text you put there. - Click Create Rule, then Save Changes.
Once there is a print rule, emails that match no rule are skipped, so the rest of the noise stops too. How rules work together.
Test it
Place a test order on your shop, or forward an old New order email to the orders mailbox. It should print within about a minute, one sheet per order, with the sender, subject and date at the top and the order below.
Nothing printed?
- Check the recipient. Open the orders mailbox in a browser. If the email isn't there, WooCommerce isn't sending it there yet, or it landed in spam.
- Check the rule. The subject match ignores upper and lower case, but it must be the text WooCommerce actually sends. Compare with a real email.
- Someone read it first. With Only print unread emails on, an order opened on a phone is skipped. Untick it.
- The computer was asleep. Keep it awake on Windows or Mac.
